A Church For the Valley
At Scottsdale Bible, our vision is to be a community of Christ-followers marked by unwavering faith and unconditional love. As God leads, we continue to press forward to take the message of Jesus into communities throughout the Valley.
Our History
God has grown SBC from a humble beginning of 13 people in 1962 to more than 7,500 meeting weekly across five campuses. For more than 60 years, He has led us by His grace and shown us that when we love Him and love our neighbors, lives will be changed across our Valley and around the world!

1962
Our church began meeting in a home for worship. They soon called our first senior pastor to lead them and began looking for locations to gather.

1965
We purchased five acres on McDonald Road in Scottsdale and built our first church campus, providing a permanent place to worship and serve our community.

1974
On October 13, the church voted to purchase 20 acres of land at the corner of Miller and Shea Blvd. as the anticipated site for what would become our SBC Shea campus. Ground-breaking occurred on January 1, 1978.

1980
The first building was completed on the Shea campus, and additional buildings would be completed between 1981 and 1986. With a commitment to reach the community for Christ, the church prioritized worship, strong Bible teaching, and service-based outreach.

1986
On March 11, the first worship service was held in the new worship center at the Shea campus with a Celebration of Commitment.

2012
With a God-given vision to extend our ministry to the Valley, we opened a second campus at Cactus Road and 25th Street. We also launched Compelled by Grace, a vision to expand our international impact, support new church plants, and expand our Shea Campus.

2014
Grace Chapel, a beautiful building on the Shea campus, opened and became a place for traditional worship services as well as weddings and other special events.

2019
Our third multisite campus, SBC North Ridge, opened at Dynamite Blvd. and 64th Street in Cave Creek, resulting from a merger with a church planted by Scottsdale Bible in 1994.

2022
Our fourth campus, SBC Fountain Hills, began services on Palm Sunday. This was the first campus birthed out of For the Valley, a long-term vision to increase our care for foster children in the Valley, support under-resourced churches, and open campuses in new neighborhoods.

2025
We’re thrilled to announce plans for a new SBC campus coming to Tempe, a pivotal step in our vision to become a church for the entire Valley! Our prayer is to complete renovations and open the doors to this campus in Fall 2025. Join us in this exciting effort to bring the hope of Jesus to both ASU students and our neighbors in Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, and Chandler.
Our Beliefs
We are committed to our values of transformational Bible teaching, engaging worship, authentic community, and service-based outreach—all expressed through the context of grace.
God has richly blessed SBC with a legacy of missions and entrepreneurial ministries. Throughout our history, He has also provided godly leaders who have served with hearts of integrity and submission to God’s Spirit. Their commitment has been to lead the people of SBC to Get God by knowing and worshipping Him, to Get Real in authentic community with others, and to Get Out There by serving others in Christ’s name. We have seen God bless these efforts, and we face the future with great expectation for the works He will continue to do through His church.

Regardless of what we are involved in, the four values of transformational Bible teaching, engaging worship, authentic community and service-based outreach—each supported by GRACE—are distinct to Scottsdale Bible Church and define who we are.
Statement of Faith

We believe...
in the Scripture of the Old and New Testament as being verbally and completely inerrant in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

We believe...
in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe...
that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man. The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father as promised to convict the world of sin, to glorify Jesus and to transform the lives of believers into the likeness of Christ.

We believe...
that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born separated from God with a sinful nature.

We believe...
that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who personally place their faith in Him are redeemed and justified on the basis of His shed blood.

in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven, and His present life for us as High Priest and Advocate.

We believe...
in the ‘Blessed Hope;’ the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God, a relationship in which they are eternally secure.

We believe...
in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost along with Satan and the other fallen angels.

We believe...
that the Church is a spiritual organism made up of all believers in Christ; that in its local manifestation it is an autonomous assembly of believers; and that its ordinances are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Our Leadership works together along with a board of Elders and an Executive Leadership Team to shape the vision and direction of Scottsdale Bible Church.
