Chapters 7-Week Prayer Journey
Monday, January 12 – Sunday, March 1 | All campuses
Join us on our 7-Week Prayer Journey!
In Scripture, we are encouraged to "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV). As Scottsdale Bible Church follows God’s leading into the future, we want to prioritize time to rejoice in His past faithfulness, give thanks for all He has done, and never cease in our prayerful dependence on Him as He uses us to reach the Valley with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Each week, our pastors will lead us through three prayer movements:
Honoring the Past: Rejoice in God’s faithfulness as we celebrate 63 years of godly leadership at Scottsdale Bible Church, including 18 fruitful years under Pastor Jamie.
Living in the Present: Give thanks for the abundant fruit in our current ministry under Pastor Jamie’s leadership.
Looking to the Future: United in prayer, we will pursue God’s wisdom and direction as we continue to reach the Valley for Christ in this next chapter of ministry
If you would like to receive daily text message prayers over this 7-Week Prayer Journey, be sure to sign up!
More details about the voting process can be found at chaptersSBC.com.

On Good Friday, heaven falls silent. Jesus steps fully into the dust of pain, betrayal, and loss. The King carries a cross. The One who spoke life enters death. Jesus takes on our brokenness and bears it all. Heaven becomes dust.
Hope feels distant. Darkness feels final. Yet love is at work. The cross reveals a Savior who meets us in the dust, refusing to leave us there.
Join us for a meaningful time of music, Scripture, and communion as we remember the sacrifice of Jesus and the depth of His love.
Childcare for Good Friday is offered at all campuses for children 3 and under; no regular Discovery Kids or Unlimited Programming.

Celebrate the morning when dust is raised to heaven and hope is born.
What was laid in a grave is raised in power. What seemed lost is restored. Jesus rises from the grave. Dust is lifted. Sin and death are defeated. Heaven reigns.
The resurrection declares that no place is too broken, no life too buried, and no story beyond redemption. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave is still at work today, bringing hope to despair, healing to brokenness, and dust to life.
This Easter, we celebrate the victory of Jesus and the promise that new life is possible.
Programming for children birth to 5th grade is available at all services except our Sunrise services. We are also creating a special online Discovery Kids Easter lesson with activities and music. Plan to join us!
Men’s Retreat 2026
April 17–19, 2026 | Lost Canyon, Williams, AZ

The 2026 Men’s Retreat invites you to step out of the noise and journey upward together, offering space for worship, biblical teaching, honest conversation, and reflection.
Led by men’s pastors from across our Scottsdale Bible campuses, the weekend will offer a shared voice and vision along with meaningful community as we listen for God’s leading and allow Him to work within us.
We’ll return from the mountain renewed, aligned, and ready to move forward with greater clarity, conviction, and purpose.

Volunteer at VBS
June 8–12 | 9am-12pm | All campuses
We need many extra sets of hands to make this year’s VBS a success. Consider helping kids discover who God is and His plan for their lives by serving in one of the following areas listed below.
*Childcare for ages 0-5 will be available for all volunteers with young children.
Adult Guides (Ages 18+):
Adult Volunteer Guides will check in/check out the same group of kids each day of VBS and will guide them through the rotations and sit with them during rallies. They will develop relationships with their team, maintaining a fun and safe environment for the kids to learn about Jesus.
Special Needs Buddy (14+ years old)
A Special Needs Buddy will assist a child who has special needs, helping to engage and redirect them throughout the morning activities to ensure a fun and meaningful time at VBS. Special Needs Buddies will receive additional training and tools to support a successful experience with their assigned child.
JHM Student Volunteers (Entering grades 6-8):
Junior High Student (JHM) Volunteers will enjoy an entry-level opportunity to serve in the church as helpers to Adult Volunteers. JHM Volunteers may be assigned to either groups of kids in kindergarten through 1st grade, or as an assistant in Rotation rooms. Assignments will be made at each campus by DK staff. This is a great opportunity to serve the Lord and to help kids have an amazing VBS experience.
HSM Student Volunteers (Entering grades 9-12):
High School Student (HSM) Volunteers will enjoy serving in the church as helpers to Adult Volunteers and in additional leadership roles. HSM Volunteers may be assigned to either groups of kids in grades 2-5 or as an assistant in Rotation rooms. Assignments will be made at each campus by DK staff. This is a great opportunity to serve the Lord and to help kids have an amazing VBS experience.
Nurse Station:
Our Nurse Station Adult Volunteers will remain in our check-in area throughout the morning to be “on call” in emergency situations. They will be responsible for administering minor first aid, evaluating additional first-aid needs, and communicating with the DK staff and Security Team about any incidents that occur on site. We prefer to have adult volunteers who have advanced first-aid skills or medical field experience, such as nurses or doctors.
Bible Review:
Our Bible Review Adult Volunteers will lead lesson discussions, activities, and challenges to reinforce the message taught during the opening rally. This is a fun and engaging role for those who truly love to teach and engage kids in a fun and interactive way.
Craft/Activities:
Our Craft/Activities Adult Volunteers will lead kids through themed crafts or fun activities every day. Depending on the campus you serve, you may have the same craft/activity all five days or you may rotate through five different activities during the week. We prepare crafts, stem activities, and team fun that is simple and engaging for kids in an age-appropriate way.
Games:
Our Games Adult Volunteers will lead kids through games to play every day. We prepare games for age-appropriate groups that are fun, team building, and downright silly! We want all kids to have an opportunity to whoop and holler for the Lord!
Snack and Chat:
Our Snack and Chat Adult Volunteers will set up snacks and then lead kids in table discussion topics. This allows time to build relationships with other kids on their team and have fun and engaging discussions.
Wherever Needed:
This Adult Volunteer is willing to help wherever they are needed.
Childcare Volunteer (Fountain Hills only):
Our Childcare Volunteers will work with children under the age of five who belong to VBS Volunteers and staff. They will check in and check out kids daily. We will have a themed schedule of activities that are engaging and age-appropriate. Childcare Volunteers are required to arrive prior to volunteers to welcome the kids to their room and stay until the last child is picked up.

Experience Alpha
Thursday, January 15 | 6:30 | Shea Venue
Let's come together for a night designed to fire up your passion for reaching people far from God.
You'll laugh and be challenged by Dr. Robert Duckworth—a former stand-up comic and powerful communicator—who’ll share fresh insights on connecting with those who’ve walked away (or never walked in).
We’ll also hear a special message from Nicky Gumbel, the pioneer of Alpha.
Pastor Rustin Rossello will unpack an exciting vision for how we—as a church—can break outside our walls and bring the hope of Jesus to the people who need it most.
You'll also hear stories from people who encountered Jesus in a real and personal way through Alpha at SBC.
Laughter. Inspiration. Vision. Movement.
You won’t want to miss it.
Childcare is provided for up to grade 6, and the cost is $10 per child.

Budget Vote & Membership Renewal
June 2-8, 2025: Budget Vote
June 2-30, 2025: Membership Renewal
All members are invited to participate in two important facets of church life at SBC:
1. We are asking you to affirm the proposed budget for the 2025/2026 ministry year, which starts on July 1.
2. You will have the opportunity to renew your SBC membership for the coming year.
Members will receive an email on June 2 with links to vote on the budget and renew or update their membership status.
Financial Overview of 2024/2025
(this year)
Our budget for this financial year, concluding on June 30, reflected a 7% increase over the previous year. Although current giving is slightly below expectations, we are hopeful to receive everything we planned on by the end of June. As always, we will manage expenses and spending to adjust to the level of giving God provides through you and others.
Looking Ahead
The budget for the coming year represents a 5% increase over our current year which will resource the programs and services that will allow SBC to continue having significant Kingdom impact at our current four campuses plus our new Tempe campus. The budget has undergone prayerful review by our Executive Leadership, Finance Council, and Elder Board. Though this budget represents a faith-filled and bold look ahead, as always, we have a strong commitment to live within the confines of what is provided to the largest extent possible, and we have various ways to adjust to a lower level of congregational support, if needed.
How and Where We Will Spend Projected Funds
Programs and Ministry: We are a full-service church with a wide variety of programs to meet the needs of adults, youth and children. We continue to offer targeted ministries as well as life-changing small groups, counseling, special ministries, and a robust local and global outreach ministry to serve our congregation, community, and a world that needs Christ. Our sense is that God has big things in store for SBC and its people in the coming year.
Staff: In the coming year, we are planning for our staffing salaries and benefits to comprise roughly 62% of our expected income. We are still within the norms of what is typical of other churches in this regard.
Capital Investments: We are thankful to have already made some major repairs and improvements over the past several years, and we have planned a significant amount for the coming year. This is an area where we can hold off on spending if the funds become limited.
2025-2026 Proposed Budget: $28.4M
This graph shows a $28.4M proposed spending plan. In addition to our operating budget, we plan to spend an additional $3.7M in outreach giving. Global, Local, and Missions Outreach comprise 15% of the total.
Thank You!
As always, we look to God for the provision and resources to accomplish His plans and purposes. We’re grateful for your continued trust, your partnership in changing lives, and your sacrificial giving that is being multiplied in ways that impact eternity.
